We usually frequent a local AYCE Hot Pot. However, it appears that these options are fine.
Ramen came with the powder packet served on plate. So it did not say spicy. Well, it was very. Noodles didn't turn out very food.
The shaved ice dessert at the end of the meal was excellent! -

Decided to come here on a dinner date with my sisters on a Monday night. It was pretty slow, and we were the only patrons there at the time. I haven't had hot pot in forever so I was a little forgetful as far as how the process worked w/ ordering. Our server was nice and explained to us how it worked as well as his favorites he recommended. I opted for the beef hot pot (beef bone broth, the noodles that it came with and a side of pork dumplings) and although it was a lot more pricier than I expected ($19) there was a lot of food that came out. A plate of thinly sliced beef that was enough to share for two as well as a large bowl full of noodles and miscellaneous items that included spinach, potatoes, mushrooms, corn, a piece of hot dog and carrots (etc.) I very much so enjoyed the complimentary sauce bar too!
Flavors were good and the server was attentive. I did notice more customers coming in and that our server was the only one on the floor. When it came time to get our bill, I asked the server about the 5% discount for checking in on Yelp, he explained how he was new and wasn't sure how to apply that promo and that his manager was out at the moment. I was kinda bummed because that was one of the reasons I chose that place to dine at, yes 5% off isn't a lot but still it was an incentive. My sister and I decided to split the check and after about 10min of being in the weeds, the server comes back to tell us he wasn't sure how to split the check on his computer. I wasn't mad, just a little annoyed at this point. If this was the server's first week, why would you leave him by himself? Shortly, the manager did come back and I guess I should never assume, because I still didn't get the check-in discount I asked about earlier.
Nonetheless, this place isn't too bad. Just a minor bump that threw me off, but if I ever get the craving for hot pot again, I'll prob consider this place as a top option. -

Do not go here. At the request of my son on his birthday we came here to eat and we were treated rudely. After we were seated no one attended our family of 6. There were only two other tables already served and no one else in the place. We waited over 10 minutes and no one provided water or asked anything. They just ignored us. Needless to say, we left.
I just want to add that we have previously come here without issue. We will not be coming back. We went to China hot pot down the road and had an excellent meal.

First off J's is a fantastic option if you are craving hot pot in the area. My review is based on the fact that I have been to other places and objectively Js is lacking on several fronts.
1. Pricing structure and value :
$15-$20 is what you will pay for one person. Though the meal comes with some retry sub standard veges and low quality tofu it's not enough variety or food to be of true value. You get a quarter corn on the cob, a fish cake , one egg and a ton of Napa. Some vermicelli thrown in too. If you want the other stuff like ramen or udon you gotta pay more. Also they charge $2.99 extra for watered down yum yum broth. That's theft lol you are basically telling your customers hey we know we are the only show in town. We got the surf n turf and it was ok at the best. Came with two frozen shrimp, two slivers of cuddle fish , some frozen salmon and tilapia. I hate tilapia I even asked if that was a part of it and the waiter assured me it wasn't and it was. The meat portion was ok I got the lamb.
2. Service : they had two people working a Saturday and after we sat it was a battle getting any attention . I mean you need to refresh your 2.99 extra tumyum broth !
Over all the structure of their menu leaves a lot to be desired. There are other places they can take inspiration from and just offer a AYCE option. I don't care if you have to charge $25 per head. It just makes hot pot more enjoyable. See Hotto Potto Orlando for the example. They are AYCE and the structure and value make it a solid 4 star.
You are better off doing this at home. -

J's is my top choice when it comes eating out for hotpot. The veggies are fresh and it comes with a decent amount of meat. I normally like to get the lamb entree ($17.95) and it's just the right amount to get full. I don't eat very much though, so I can see someone else having to order more food. It can get quite pricey, especially if you order a la carte. I have also ordered the Surf & Turf Combo before, you get seafood and 1 choice of meat for ($19.95). I've stopped ordering this but instead prefer the lamb entree because you get more meat this way. Also, the seafood isn't very fresh. There were times I've received the seafood and there's still a lot of ice on it.
Service is not bad, but kind of slow even when they aren't very busy. But not a big deal since you're essentially cooking your own food, getting your own sauces, etc. I still prefer this place over other places. Definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it.
